WHY IS SEX STILL A SUBJECT WHICH SHOULDN’T BE TALKED ABOUT OPENLY?

Growing up in a Latin/Afro American household sex wasn’t a subject to be talked about. The only sex talk my mom ever gave me and my sisters were “girls, kissing a boy can get you pregnant and sex is dirty.” My mother had thought if she put the fear of God in us we wouldn’t grow up to find out the truth.

After my first kiss from a young gentleman and the realization of not getting pregnant, my life had changed.

Unfortunately, for her that wasn’t the case, after my first kiss from a young gentleman and the realization of not getting pregnant, my life had changed. My body had a transitionby the time I was fifteen and my mother wanted to assure me now “I was a woman”. She reminded me if I should have sex prior to marriage I would be considered“dirty.” Having sex before marriage wasn’t an option according to my mother, but I can assure you my loves sex isn’t dirty by any means and I had sex before marriage.

I had so many questions which went unanswered. I finally resorted to talking to the young girls who were having sex then and still I was confused. Even after meeting my husband and being married to him at the age of 17, I remember how sex was still awkward as he laid on top of me grunting and groaning as I laid motionless. Sex consisted of him getting off, me feeling dirty and used. It was a chore I provided for my husband. It proved to be nothing pleasurable. However, I had no outlet not a single person I could talk with. Sex was something you did behind closed doors. People looked down on those who spoke openly about it.

Hell did you know semen can prevent tooth decay? The facts are just endless.

For years I suffered in silence not knowing my body. I spent countless hours reading through magazines in order to understand it. Eventually masturbation became my secret to my own pleasure,of course without my then husband’s knowledge. I eventually left the marriage and re-married to a man who showed me what losing one inhibition was meant. I can honestly say I became an addict to feeling good and he was my drug. I lovedthe woman I had become, it was clear as day I was finally no longer sexually repressed. I was stunned by the numberof women who were in similar situations I had or the factthey never achieved the Big O. Something needed to be done. I had a need to want to educate others on becoming sexually free, so Tantalizing Productions, Inc. was born. I became the voice that was desperately needed. I taught women, and couples how to achieve sexual pleasures.

At first I was met with a lot of opposition from both men and women looking down at me. I had some women turn their noses at me saying one shouldn't speak about sex in the open? I asked says who? We no longer live in a society where we just have to shut up and take what is given to us. Sex can be pleasurable should one know what they are doing. It became my duty to become this voice without shame. I've been asked whether or not if I am concerned about the stigma's that come along with what I do. Personally I don't care about these stigmas because I am free, I am also in tune with my sexuality.

I can honestly say in this century it is a shame we still cannot talk about sex openly. While I don't promote promiscuity, I do promote safe sex with those you love. Sex has plenty of benefits, did you know sex is considered a workout?Yes, you can burn up to 207 calories during intercourse. Did you know there is even an app for a sex calculator to inform you of how many calories for each position you do? Hell did you know semen can prevent tooth decay? The facts are just endless.

I hope whether you still believe sex shouldn't be spoken about in the open, or inneed of some educating, that you will join me on this journey as I speak freely of the feel goods. I will give you tips to ensure a great sex life. I will present you with sex facts although some will make you laugh or even have your eyebrows raising up. Either way, I promised to be the voice for the sexually repressed, and I will not disappoint you.  My column will give you a chance to ask questions regarding your current relationship in my Dear Monica section. I've been educating individuals for well over fourteen years, and I am filled with amazing information. Enjoy thisride with me and repeat after me “SEX ISN'T DIRTY”. Let us all experience a healthy sex lifestyle where Happy Cummings isinvolved!!!!
